Who runs Pen to Portrait?

Welcome to Pen to Portrait, where we take the photos that are too good to leave sitting in your camera roll and turn them into personalised, one-off prints. I’m Freya, and I’m the one behind the pen, drawing all of your favourite faces one portrait at a time.

Being creative is something I've always enjoyed. When I got my first iPad and pencil in 2021, I knew one day I wanted to turn my little hobby of drawing cute pets into a business I could call my own. 5 years later and I'm lucky enough to say that's now true!

Today, Pen to Portrait is a one-person business with a lot of love behind it. I get to hear the stories behind your photos and see where the finished portraits end up, which is my favourite part of what I do.

Each Pen to Portrait print is created from scratch using the photos you upload. We hand draw each portrait with our iPad and pen, meaning we can make high quality customisable illustrations without relying on AI to do it for us.

We print, package and post every print from the North East of England, adding a personal touch right through to the final parcel. The thing we love the most about this is that your print is unique to you - nobody else is going to have the same thing hanging up in their house!
